Open yourself to the wisdom of nature, vast and expansive, bringing forth life in myriad ways. Let its intelligence inform you and transform you. Let nature help you evolve into a higher being.

TULUM, QUINTANA ROO, MEXICO

Please contact Aimee if you are interested in dates for 2010!

Created with yoga in mind, Maya Tulum is a beautiful retreat center on the Yucatan Peninsula, nestled on a white sand beach along the Carribean Sea. Among the many opportunities to nurture yourself on this retreat will be yoga; yummy, healthy food; many types of body work and spa services; and spending time in nature.

This retreat is suitable for yoga students of all levels and will focus on yoga as a way of being. Aimee will assist you in developing and deepening your personal yoga practice. The experience will inspire you to keep coming back to your yoga mat and teach you how to take yoga off your mat and into the world. Learn how the art and science of yoga can teach you to create vitality, open fully to love, compassion, courage, and joy, and to release limiting physical, emotional, and behavioral patterns. Yoga can teach you to be your True Self and to create the life your heart desires.

Aimee teaches a flowing style of yoga, from restorative to vigorous, emphasizing connection to the breath and the alignment of body, mind, and spirit. This yoga retreat will include asana (yoga postures), pranayama (conscious breathing exercises), meditation, self-reflection, yogic philosophy, energy work, goal-setting, karma yoga (selfless service), guided drum journeys, and ecstatic dance!

In addition to yoga, the retreat will include opportunities for being in nature: swimming in the ocean, snorkeling, kayaking, bird watching, relaxing on the beach, exploring Mayan ruins, and visiting the Centro Ecologico Sian Ka'an, a small ecotourism and education center in the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve

Suggested reading: To view or purchase books on the suggested reading list for the retreat, please visit the LBY Bookstore.
